I Need to Borrow a Bass in TORONTO, Tues. Oct. 3, evening...

I'm not sure what the appropriate forum is for this is, buuuuut...

I have a funraiser gig with Kellylee Evans at the Royal York Hotel the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 3, and I need a bass. I live in Ottawa and we're flying in that afternoon.

If you have one with pickup you're willing to lend for the evening, I'd really appreciate it. I prefer the old-timey-gut-type-sound rather than steel strings, but beggars can't be choosey!

Thanks,
Chris Breitner

Borrowing a bass in Hollywood North

Try contacting http://www.georgeheinl.com/ , it's the biggest string shop in town. If they don't have one to rent, they could probably put you in contact with someone who will.

Hi Chris,

You may remember me - I came by to look at your old bass when you were selling it last summer in Ottawa.

Anyway, my bass doesn't have guts or a pickup equipped, and you'd have to arrange transportation for it, but I'd say you'd be welcome to use it. You'll probably find something else that better suits your needs though.

I'd lend you my Revolution Solo-equipped 2004 carved bass from China if you could return it after the gig on the 3rd - I leave for vacation the next morning. It is strung with Corelli 370F's. I live about 10 minutes east of downtown.

Oops!

I really must apologize to both Jeff_Moote and wallydoesbass ... I forgot to subscribe to the thread when I posted it, so didn't see your replies until fellow TB'er Adrian Cho let me know about them the other day.

No one PM'ed me about them so I figured there were no takers.

Anyhow, I played the gig on electric, and I'm glad I did as it was so boomy and noisy in the ballroom where we played that the upright would have been lost.

So, sorry and thanks all at the same time!

Chris
