I ordered an upright. it'll be here in a week

Hey all you Double Talkbassers. after 2+ years on electric I finally decided to get an upright. I want to learn jazz and classical styles. I'm learning because I'm going to the University of North Texas and minoring in bass. I decided I needed to learn to become the best bass player I can be.

Congrats Dirk. Are you studying with Bradetich or Lynn Seaton? They are both monsters. I'm going to a week-long masterclass with Lynn in June. What kind of bass did you get?

UNT is a great place for a bassist.

When I called the music dept. they told me I didn't have to audition to minor in music, so I don't know who I'll be studying with, probably a grad student for a couple of years. I'm looking forward to studying there. The bass is a Cremona 3/4. Not the greatest but I guess it will be good for a beginner.
