Cabin dweller, where are you located? (*cough* fill in your profile *cough*). Maybe we can all help you find someone qualified to set it up right.

I bought the munich model from jim laabs. After a pretty lengthy setup session from my local luthier it plays and sounds great. I've had several positive comments from guys who play much more expensive basses. I recommend purchasing either the munich or the hamburg and investing in a quality setup from a local luthier as opposed to buying a more expensive bass and trying to play it with no setup-tweaks. Overall I love it.

A miracle?

A fully-carved bass for $1277 that receives relatively high marks? Will those with first-hand experience with these and more costlier basses please provide more detailed information? Where would you place these re Gollihur's fully-carved Bulgarian, re some of the nicer hybrids discussed here, re some of the nicer laminates discussed here? Notice that I am not asking for a comparison to substantially more costly fully-carved models. Some things I take on faith!
