Joining the URB world soon!!

I have been playing BG for the past 20 years and will be joining the upright world in a couple of months. I've been research for the past couple of months and I am leaning towards getting a Shen SB150. I figure it would be best to spend the cash on a good bass rather than getting a starter bass only to outgrow it in under a year. One thing I haven't been able to find are teachers in my area. Do any of you live in the San Gabriel Valley, CA that can recommend a teacher? I am leaning towards learning orchestral playing and hopefully joining a local community orchestra. After I get my chops I will work on my jazz/latin skills.

Your excitement is noted and fully justified. You're in for more of a journey than you imagine. Should be fun.

Your choices thus far are indisputably sound. Pix soon, and keep us posted.
