just curious, someone played PALATINO BILLY BASS?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-PALATINO-BILL...#ht_3577wt_941

i know that most of you would say it s crap just by seeing the name. I would like to know if someone actually bought or played one, is it worth it, considering the addition of 500$ of ajustment on it? ( luthier ajustement + strings and bridge change)

unlikely you will find anyone here who plays on one of those. a student of mine has a palatino. it's a year or so old. its sound post has decided that it would prefer to exit the instrument via the back, and it will eventually succeed. that is just one of many problems - the thing is pretty much unplayable. the kid can't afford a new bass or the repairs, plus he could never sell this bass in the condition it is in, so he is playing it until it falls apart then who knows what.

good luck with your bass search!

hi Cyanure,

Steve's music store actually has one of these basses in the shop in downtown Montreal. At least they did 2 months ago. You can check it out in person there. Be sure to look inside the bass... you'll have a good laugh.
