Juzek problems

I recently bought a 1950's Juzek bass that has quite a few issues. The overall sound of the bass is great, but the top has obviously been removed and then put back on WRONG. I got the bass super cheap and just wondered if some of the evenness of sound i are related to the top. The D string is louder then the rest of the string by quite a bit. Anyway hoping for some direction on where to start on getting this thing up and running. It has a real punchy clear sound, even with all the problems.

start with the cheapest adjustment. Have a luthier look at the the soundpost.
