Kay bass M-I-W

I have first crack at a well used and very playable old Kay bass. It has a couple of small repairs but plays good. The label says Kay M-I-W ser#23610.

Anyone know how old it is, what the M-I-W stands for, and what it may be worth?

If it's in good condition, yes. IMHO, you should always have a luthier look over a potential purchase. This holds especially true if the neck has cracked, a common Kay issue. If so, you want to make sure the repair was professionaly done.
