Good catch! That seems like a smoking gun to me. So they really do go to the trouble of making the pegbox look as if the tuners have been changed? Amazing! |

But I would have thought the 500 GB Pounds shipping costs from Germany to USA, would have put US bidders off.....

I emailed with some questions and got this reply on its age :
"Dear Sir, sorry but we don't have any evidence that the bass is 150 years old. This is only our opinion about this instrument. It looks realy old and sounds very lovely. It is hard to date an instrument like this. The Bass has a neck-graft. The wood and the varnish looks very old and used. It smells old. It it was often used. Best Regards, F.Szoradi "
