Thumbs down

Not much. Rules of thumb for bass buying:

1) Never buy from a mass market music retailer or guitar store.

2) Buy from a real bass shop that will provide a good setup.

3) Stay away from CCBs and BSOs.

4) The minimum for a decent new DB is about $1200. You'll pay it one way or another and if you start with junk, then after you pay to fix it you'll end up paying that minimum for a poorer instrument (the Devilli story notwithstanding).

So, going for the KK goes against all the rules of DB buying that'll protect you.

Yup, what he said - that should be mandatory reading for all newbies - "Doc's Laws"
