Leaving laminate DB in car

I have a rental Shen SB-80 that I take to work with me once a week for orchestra rehearsal during lunch. My question is: Is it ok to leave the bass in the car or should I try to make room for it in my cubical? It's currently pretty cold outside here in central Ohio. It's a protected lot, so I'm not worried about theft, I'm just worried about the effect on the bass being left in the car with no heat for 4 hours twice a day.

thanx

Don't do it. Bring it in. Because it is a laminate the wood might not crack but the hide glue will become brittle in the cold. Also remember that when a cold surface comes inside there you get condensation. You'll also have a heck of a time keeping it in tune for quite a while after you bring it in.

Plus if the weather is anything like it is in Chicago right now we are not just talking a little chilly.
