lefty double troubles

Hi folks ,i'm brand new to this forum ,and would like to share my problem.
Basically i'm a lefty bass player who would dearly like to start to learn and play to a reasonable level, country /blues some jazz etc on upright,it seems however its very hard to find a lefty double ,as they are difficult to convert etc ,which i now fully understand.Does anyone know of anywhere out there that can offer this service in the uk? It seems at the moment i'd have to pay around $4000 US for this plus carriage . Surely there must be a cheaper option ,any feedback is much appriciated especially from the UKwrong way man
