Lemur Music Travel Bass?

There are a lot of basses out there that can be broken down and disassembled for traveling purposes. I saw one so I know what it sounded like. It sounded ok. I got curious and I then went looking around for other options and there was one from Lemur that peaked my curiosity.
It's called the Fly Away. Has anyone ever tried one of these?
I'm on the other side of the country from them so I haven't played one.
Thanks.

I'm in the Lemur shop a few times/year. I think I was buying strings. Quite sometime ago. A customer was playing this bass that sound really good. Simple scales and stuff. It was the travel bass. Much later I saw a video of Jerry doing the assmeble/disassemble thing with the bass going into a very manageable case. If all the travel basses sound as good as the one I heard then Lemur has a real winner.

Cool Flyaway

I have one of these. Jerry retrofitted a bass I bought from him a few years ago and the conversion is great. The bass travels well, is light and sounds great to my ears. I've got to admit that the first time I saw it taken apart it was more than a little shocking and the first time I had to do it myself, the process took much more than a few minutes. However, it was well worth it.

When I travel, I try to have the bass set up at least a few hours before the actual gig so things settle in. It is wood after all. Jerry also developed a very cool way of allowing the bassist to adjust string height without messing with the bridge. All in all a very good system!

I watched the video of it being put together/taken apart. The way to adjust string height is really interesting. One question I had was . . . How does the case stay closed? It looks like a velcro strip around the lid.

I like how it is a carved bass. That's awesome.

A 4 inch strip of velcro wraps around the entire perimeter. It stays closed really well.
