It had gamut guts but the G broke and the A got frizzy so he bought an unwraped cheap gut for an A and .080 weedeater line for a G. So it looks like I'll have to get a couple of new strings and all that stuff fixed up but even with a 22 year old piece of poulan weedeater line as a "G" it plays pretty good.
More higher quality pics will follow.

Man, I never get cool stuff for free, let alone a bass.

I took an organ that was at my school, hoping my teacher would forget about it (he's extremely scatterbrained). The only thing it was used for in the 2 years of it being there was a prop in a play. As a piano. Noone even knew it was there.

He asked me if I still had it today, damn...

Nice score! Now, take a little of the money you didn't spend on the bass, ditch the weedwhacker line and get a set of strings. You might consider having a luthier look it over to make sure it's set up for maximum sound.

Whoa nice score!! I know you'll get that all fixed up and playable soon. I remember once as kids visiting my cousins in NY state.. one afternoon down by the side of the river in Rochester someplace, my 1st cousin just finds an electric guitar just laying there.. he scoops it up and takes it home, looking around first to see if anyone will claim it, but no takers. I seem to remember it was a cheap knock-off of an ES335.
