Looking for tuning peg for 1940 Kay M-1W

I need your help!

I'm looking for a tuning peg for my bass (1940 Kay M-1W). The actual worm gear/tuning machine is fine but the part where I grip it to turn it has broken off leaving the shaft. I have to tune with a pair of channel locks now. Does anyone happen to have a spare tuning peg around their place? I'd rather not have to replace the whole tuning machine if I don't have to.

The attached photo shows what I mean.

Can someone please help?

Thanks,
Grif

If you fill out your profile people will find it easier to help you in terms of pointing you to repair shops and resources.

That said, any competent luthier or metal shop should be able to fabricate a key and solder it on for you.
