Lusch bass

Hi. I recently purchased a bass from an old friend. She's a laminate 3/4. I remember when his girlfriend at the time bought it for him; the early 80's. Always loved the bass and tried to buy it from him several times over the years ( He's a jazz guitar player and really hardly ever played her ). Guess he's finally over the chick 'cause I got it about 4 months ago. He told me it was a German bass of some sort, but the maker's tag had gone away at some point. Took her up to my friends at the Loft here in Columbus, Ohio http://www.theloftviolinshop.com/mus...attheloft.html and they conferred and were sure it was made in Cleveland, Ohio by a Joseph Lusch from German parts. Two of them had been to the factory. I guess Mr. Lusch was a contemporary of Mr. Peter Horn, Horn from Germany and Lusch from Yugoslavia and they both worked at Scherl & Roth until they went out on their own. Mr. Horn is still going in Cleveland, but I have not been able to contact him. Would just like to find out any info I can about the company and the instruments. Nothing I could find out on line. Anybody have some knowledge to share? Thanks, Slim

Ran into the ex at a Home depot the other day. Hadn't seen her in 15 years .... she looked like a mutated Toby mug, and smelled offensively. Slim

Thanks anyway Marcus. Appreciate the levity. Sure wish I hadn't gotten that picture of Mary stuck in my head though now.
