FYI- I just bought a Shen SB 100 with pro setup for far less than Upton or Rutmans sells there basses. For those in New England check out this little shop in Pawtucket. He has the hybrid Shen priced just a bit above the ply Shen's at Upton.

Thanks for the info. Zach has a great reputation here in New England.

Its not just about price, IMHO. When one deals with a highly skilled, solo craftsperson one can get the benefits of the luthier's full attention.
