Meisel E Fusion--less depth than traditional

Recently came across some information about the Meisel E Fusion Bass, 3/4 size in every respect, except for the depth of its body. It went on to say that the body was 55% less deep than a traditional bass.

Is anyone using a Meisel E Fusion OR another bass that has less depth than a traditional bass? Any comments about it?

Years ago, I had a '39 Selmer-Kay Slim line mode. Looked like a Kay S9 with ribs that were 5 - 5 1/2" deep. Very similar to this Meisel. It was a surprisingly loud bass. It had a rather hard sound to it, no puff in the lower register, but it did work well in the mix.

I play a Leroy Geiger bass with 14cm ribs and wider bouts than a normal 3/4. It doesn't really have the thump you want in an orchestra section, but for everything else it is excellent. I once played a Meisel bass with thin ribs. I found it very nice to play, but not a huge sound. A good bet for amplification, though. A little less bottom can be an advantage, being easier to amplify.
