Meisel tuner problem???

Hi there,
Just bought this tuner from Gollihur. It seem to have had great reviews from this board. The only thing is that it isn't picking the frequencies from all the string, A and E rarely get picked the first time around and something never get picked. I've tried different location on the bridge and on the bass, but have not found a place were all the string get good reading. My tuner doesn't seem to be as fast reading as the one on bob video. And finally it doesn't shut down after 3 minutes of inactivity as advertise. Anybody experienced the same problem?Should I be worry, or I,m I just expecting too much? any suggestion?

Robert

I use mine on my electric bass,(my URB is on the truck being delivered). I find it works better on some parts of the headstock better than others, but works very well. I haven't tried the automatic shutoff, I just turn it off when I'm done.

I haven't had any of those problems, it always picks up all the strings on DB, guitar and mandolin, but it has a pretty easy-going sense of pitch.

I tune one string and then tune from that, otherwise I won't be in tune.

The tuner works best on the low strings if you hit the harmonic one octave up.
That is, the halfway point between the nut & bridge.

You can stop that by using cyanoacrylate glue to immobilize the two ancillary buttons.

They don't really have any use on a bass anyway.

I've had the exact same experience with my Meisel tuner. It just plain didn't work. The light came on but that was about the most exciting part. Never did it pick up any signal from any string. I bought a new battery but it didn't help. I just got back from a gig where I threw it on the floor and stepped on it in frustration. I need a new tuner now. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried the Intelli?

edit: I realize that stomping on my tuner was a silly thing to do.
