Meisel Uprights

Anyone know where I can get information on these basses? I have a chance to buy a laminate and the guy is asking $2K, said he paid $5K...does that sound right? Can't find a thing about them. No model number or label (unfortunately) but it sounds pretty good.

Any help is much appreciated.

They've been discussed here a lot. If the guy paid 5k for a lam Meisel, he paid too much, I think. The 2k figure depends on condition, fittings, and so on. As I've said here before, I had a really good Meisel lam, well built, played and sounded great, but I've played other that were pretty "meh".
