| You need to do some research and find out what German/Czech workshop basses are selling for in your area. Talk with string shops and luthiers. I imagine Juzek basses are more common in the US than in Europe as they were made for export to the US. Chances are you will get more for it in a large city than a small town. I've seen Juzek basses marketed from $3500.00 to $13,000 in the US. I played one similar to yours in Boston, they are asking $8500.00. A friend of mine bought one in Cincinnati for $5000.00. A 60's Juzek sold in Chicago recently for ~$13,000.
If your bass sounds really good (at least compared to other Juzek type basses), is healthy and is set up well, you will get more for it than if the opposite is true. |
