Redundantly....Jerry Finch of Denver patterned those fiberglass basses (if that's what this is) on my Jacobus Hornsteiner back in the 60's. That is not the original paint. Most were white and a few were brown.

They sound like what they are....fiberglass. Indestructible and okay for a starter bass. You'd be best served to move up to a bass made of wood as soon as possible. IMO.
When he did the first prototype I went over. He took a full size axe and hit the damn thing as hard as he could. It flew across the factory floor and the only sign was a small mark where the axe hit.

EDIT: After thumb-nailing your pic, I see that this bass has violin corners. The Finch ones were gamba pattern. Either this isn't a Finch or something is amiss. Is it fiberglass?
