Is my bass any good ;-)

This afternoon I was stuck at work, bored, so I decided to try to make my bass look like something that Ken might bid on.

My bass

I'm no Jean Marc Angles but quite happy with the result. Where do the bids start? $40,000?

When I looked at the photos I was guessing about makers, either Romanian or Czech, but I decided to cheat and look at your profile. I found a link to that maker I think:http://www.paesold.com/History.asp
Interesting story and it reports the company is back in family ownership. The bass looks like it's in great shape and you've done some really good mug shots of it. I'd put a little bit harder light on it myself and put it against a dark gray background so the bass stands out more. Yes you'll get shadows, but you'll also show dimension better and the bass will be the lightest thing in the photo. Just some photo tips in case you get bored again.

I had a Czech laminate myself, so I was guessing that was a new TP. Nicely done. Did you notice a sound improvement from putting the compensation on it?

I'm also going to guess that it is an E-flat neck instead of a D neck. My laminate was like that and it made it easier for me to find the "horn" keys (Eb, Bb, Ab) than on my current bass with a D neck.

oh bugger you've given the game away! I forgot about my profile!
Ken won't be bidding now. You've cost me thousands ;-)

Did the bass come with the rubber ducky, if not, buy the bass a new rubber ducky, I'm sure it would add something to the tone

The other shots of the bass are nice too.
