My purpose of this thread really is:
-I would like to know any certain care or precautions to take, since the bass was built in 2007, and I know that new basses are high maintinence
-Ask if anybody knows about Gliga, because this is a really nice catch for 4G, and I haven't even heard of the company 'til I took a peek inside at the store
-Suggest Bob Beerman's Bass Violin Shop, because I've had by far the best service there than anywhere else. I think it was worth the 3-hour drive to and 3-hour drive back

Now get yourself a decent bow instead of that fiberglass bow you've been playing. Almost everyone here would agree that the best upgrade under the so-and-so price level is a better bow.

And I had spoken with Bob about Damp-its, and I was advised that I might as well just get a cheap humidifier, because damp-its have little effect.
And, hopefully, I can get a new bow (a real bow) for my birthday, which is right after Christmas (this bass was my Christmas present)

I was gonna stop at Beerman's shop on my way to Florida but didn't leave at the right time to do so. I ended up buying a bass in Florida. Can't offer any care advise here. I also have never owned a carved bass until now.

I bought a Gliga II 3/4 just over 2 years ago, and I just love playing it. It has really developed some extra warmth in the tone in that time.
I put Thomastik Spiros on when I got it, they are still on there.
The Gliga factory is in the North of Romania, the area that was called Transylvania. So my bass is nicknamed 'the count'...

After establishing a world wide reputation for fine quality Romanian hand made violins, he started a factory in Romania making all violin family instruments. He recruited the best luthiers from the formerly state operated factory in Reghin, Transylvania. He is now probably the biggest builder of violin family instruments in Romania. Instruments from his factories are sold under several names, the Gliga name being reserved for those of the highest quality. So there you have it. Yours is a killer Transylvanian bass of considerable contemporary pedigree.
