My New Friend

I finally got an upright bass last Saturday. My fiance knows a former music professor at a nearby university and she pointed me towards this gentleman who repairs string instruments. The guy had an upright bass that he pretty much rebuilt and he sold it to me for only $400! It's a fully carved bass, apparently German in origin, and the repairman put on new tuners, fingerboard, bridge, and tailpiece. He also put on tungsten strings (I'm guessing they're Corellis) and it sounds AWESOME . . . much better than the laminate bass I've been playing at church.
