It is a 1959 Kay S-1
It is strung with Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore, set up with low action as I like. Here it is:

Seriously, congrats! Looks great. It's a treat when you find a "bass love." |

But since she is older than me..... does that make me new to her ?

Lucky you.
I had a 1950 S-1. A dynamite little bass (40.5 string length) that played loud and rich. I hope you enjoy yours.

Either way, looks like a lovely bass! | I am not very knowledgeable, but the S-1 came with ebony fingerboard and tail piece, and real purfling on top, back and around the "f" holes (which is not necessarily an advantage on a plywood bass). That's all I know!

I also recently purchased my first DB. Its a 51' Kay M1 and I bought it from a fellow TB'r here in Phoenix just a month ago. I love it. Been playing EB for 20+ years and never new what I was missing.
Enjoy!
