Any thoughts on this beast? I was told late 1800's, and that's about it.

I quite like your guitars, BTW.

I'm taking it to Classic Contrabass tomorrow morning for Michelle to go over. I figure a new bridge/fingerboard/endpin as a minimum, and probably some crack repairs (most of them are old repairs and appear stable). I considered doing some of it myself, but I can't fit it in my schedule right now. Better to let the bass expert have at it, I'll stick with guitars for now. |

new fingerboard/nut
new bridge w/ aluminum adjusters
new soundpost
new strings (Obligatos)
new endpin
glue all 4 corner blocks
glue 2 small open seams
I think I'm going to get a Fishman Full Circle while I'm at it. I've had a Realist, a Bass Max, and a Bass Max/Golden Trinity. I never got along with the Golden Trinity, the Bass Max always seems compressed/artificial, and the Realist lacked clarity for me. From what I can tell, the Full Circle is the closest to what I'm looking for. Most of my recent playing is folk music through a mic/PA, the pickup is for louder jazz/rock gigs. |
