Mysterious Double Bass

Guys,

I need help in identifying my double bass. I've attached a zip file of some pics of the bass. My luthier said that the bass is around 15 yrs. old and is not locally made (I'm from the Philippines).

If you look at the pic, you'll notice that it's all made of maple. The finger board and tailpiece was recently replaced and is made of "KAMAGONG", which is the local equivalent of ebony. One thing that is noticeable is the scroll because of its through-and-through construction (replacing strings is very easy with a through-and-through scroll). Also, there's a wooden disc sandwiched between the back and the soundpost (my luthier said it's a Hofner trademark).
Its price is roughly $1500.

Anyway, all your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks!
