N(Double)BD + N(Electric)BD!

Well to be honest this is more of a new bass week for me. I bought myself the electric on Monday and I drove with my father to buy my first upright today! In any case here they are:

First the electric. Peavey Grind 4

Wow. Talk about a great bass for the money, if anybody is looking for a high quality neck-through in the ~$400 price range this is your bass. Tight sound, fast response, good feel, sturdy hardware, and the passive electronics aren't anything special but they have no negative impact on the sound. However with all this good there will be bad, however I'm just nitpicking because this is a $400 bass.

The back of the headstock reads "Handcrafted in China" and I believe that to be true, the routing was done by hand and as you can see is a little shaky. It is by no means a real problem though and only noticeable close-up.

The fretwork and inlay was done by hand as well, and it is functional (no dead spots and no hanging frets), but I wouldn't call it that pretty...

NOW FOR THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

The upright. Calin Wultur "Corsini" 3/4 size, carved, round back, Romanian.

What can I say... First that in person the varnish is closer to this deep brown/red color that is just breathtaking.

The sound: Full, but not ear-splittingly massive, Responsive, not lightning fast. Really it is just a solid carved bass with a solid tone.

That's it. I've had one hell of a NBD, and if you want any more pics or have any questions then just go for it.

EDIT: Pictures Fixed

Congrats

Wow, two really nice instruments. The woodshed is always better with more wood.

Enjoy
