Neck repair question

I am looking around to get my first upright, and I noticed this bass on craigslist locally:

http://austin.craigslist.org/msg/1724146753.html

Now I am located in College Station Texas right now so driving up to Austin is going to end up being an entire days trip. I am a little bit wary of the neck repair on this bass. Is it very serious? Would it be worth my time to drive up to Austin and play it to see if I like it? Thanks!
