Need help identifying a Double Bass

Let me start off by saying that I'm more of an electric bass expert than a Double Bass, so any help would be grateful. I recently bought this bass at a stupid good price, but have no idea who made it. The only history I have on it, is that the previous owners father had a little swing band and he bought this in the early 80's in Texas. Not really much to go on I know. There is no marking on the inside that I can see. It obviously needs a little love...new strings, bridge and post placement...etc. It has had one crude repair on the upper bout. As of now I'm assuming it's nothing special, but the highly flamed maple on the back and sides keeps me wondering. I'll post a few pics on this post as well as a link to many more pics. Again...any help at all would be great.
Thanks
Adam

HI

Your bass looks quite like one I just sold (see attached pic.) Mine was a German blonde plywood bass from about 1960. The things that really seem similar are the nice inlay and the flaming on the back and sides. PLUS the vertical line down the centre of the back (which is thinner and - at least on mine - wasn't an actual inlay). I can't tell from your pics whether your top is plywood, but it might be...

A nice enough bass!
