need to rent a bass in memphis

i need to rent a bass in memphis while i'm at the national folk alliance conference 2/22-2/25. can anybody help me out? shops? players?

You might check with Amro Music. They have a rental program and do sell basses.

Try Tim Goodwin at the University - bassist and has the jazz program there. If he doesn't have one he may know someone who does. Tell him I sent you.

You might ask Scott Reed, who is on this board occasionally as well.

I'm about 1 hour away, but my bass takes some getting used to as it is so large, and most people are not comfortably on it right away.

I second this opinion, Tim is a great guy and bassist as well, I'm sure he could help you in some way, the school has a pretty decent KS Strings plywood that might do the job for you. Good luck.
