I would say slowly crank the G side, and check the contact of the feet-to-top as you go with a sheet of thin paper. If the feet move, you'll know right away. Also, adjustable bridges can be REALLY hard to adjust UP in full tension. I'd back off the strings quite a bit first, but keep an eye on the bridge, it should be perpendicular to the top at all times!

Great looking bass! And a steal for a fully carved.
I got adjusters that my bass repair person said allow slight raising of one side ounly. They are made of a single piece of aluminium. There is grooves on the wood itself, and then theres holes in the feet side. The feet will sit tightly on the bass becouse the joint kind of bends. Hopefully someone understands. This particular adjuster model is a local invention, or at least I was told that it is. And I have a tendency to believe all that I hear, not.

mattfong : Beautiful bass. Congratulations.

I got a fully carved db 7/8 size (or something like that) Made in Tzekkoslovakia around 1968-1972 for 500 euros. Thats 731,05 US dollars. A deal or what? Got allso a really nice french perimbau bow from around 1945-1955 with it.

It was sold as a hybrid, and how could I know? It is my first.

I would just like to say that I put a Fishman BP-100 on this bass and it sounds like gold through my Eden CXC210. Pure Gold.

Did you have to use a preamp?

Well, I have the same pickup and I also go right into my amp. Sounds good to my ears.

Thanks Speyer and JMP. JMp unfortunetly your a little too far away from me to make it doable. Speyer on the other hand is. And, I'm still wavering on your Menzel. As you mentioned, as a starter bass, the price is right. But, I do like the idea of holding out for a hybrid or better. I've got a lot of feelers out there right now, so maybe I'll hear from one of them. And, I've got to get over to Vancouver to check out a couple of luthiers, and Prussin. Speyer, did you buy your new bass from them by chance? And in your ad for your Menzel, it mentions Vancouver. But your profile says Kamloops. Do you travel between the two?
