New Bass! Any opinions? (pix inside)

I visited volkweins today after struggling with my initial first upright (lark 3/4) and after getting them to steer me away from some cheapo uprights I found one that is beautiful has a nice tone and is wonderful to play. Being no professional however, I would like you all to form your own opinions on it.

The model is an Engelhardt BM-1 3/4

You've already answered all the important questions. If you like the sound and it's set up well then IMHO beauty is icing on the cake, but hey, looks like you got it all

I'm no professional either, but in my experience the Engle's and some of the other affordable laminates (Shen, Christopher, Eberle etc...) are great for those looking to step up from a CBC to a more playable and durable bass and not worried about arco tone and auditioning with the symphony in the near future (although i have heard a few older Kays with nice arco tone - Englehardt took over from Kay when they went out of business - same molds etc...)

Thanks for the nice pic's...Congratulations! Enjoy !
