New Bass: new Schnitzer/de Sola model

so im finally getting around to putting a post about a new bass that i have. ive actually had it for 3 weeks now. its the first one of a new schnitzer / dasola model called the Brandenburg. (number 1). i think it will be a very successful model for arnold. the concept that arnold said he was going for was a 7/8ths bass with a 7/8ths sound that felt like a 3/4 bass. id say he definately accomplished that with this bass. its so easy to play, has a big body with narrow sloped shoulders that make upper register playing a breeze. it has deep ribs and a round back, and has a huge sound both arco and pizz. ive been casually looking for a bass for the past 3 years and this is the first bass that really spoke to me. when i tried many basses id have to imagine what it would sound like if it were set up correctly, or had pizz strings, or had arco strings, etc. not this bass. its ready to play just as is. nice big warm and punchy pizz sound and a great even, and warm arco sound with the EP weich's. no need to change strings for any type of gig. i had a couple of serious classical guys play this bass and both thought it was ready for classical work as is. i dont think ill have to go through a string search on this bass like i have done on all my other basses. so ill be attaching pics, but its a maple bass with not much figuring and a nice lighter tint on the varnish. i always wanted a highly flamed bass, but the sound of this bass made me quickly forget about all that.
dimensions:
upper bout: 19 in.
lower bout: 26 in
length of back: 44 in
lower ribs 8.5 in
upper ribs 8 in.
string length: 41.5 in

Congrats! Looks really nice! Is this a bass that Arnold makes completely in his shop or is it akin to the New Standards that come from Germany?

Enjoy!

Beautiful bass! How did you find out about this new line in time to get the very first one?

thanks! it just happened to be there when i went to try some basses. got lucky i guess! it sounded so good and was so easy to play that i took it home the same day. first bass that made me do that in 3 yrs of looking. not that i didnt play some really fine instruments in those 3 years, but this is just a whole lot of bass for the money, and brand new it sounds very close in tone to basses twice the price. im betting that it will only get better. already in the last 3 weeks the tone has improved some. it may be because i think i got to it literally days after it was assembled and strung with new strings. the strings/wood are probably setteling down, and ive been playing it alot.
fyi, i hear that number 2 is in pieces in the shop ready to be put together. poplar this time.

Congrats man!

That sounds amazing. If I reach the point of being able to afford/need another DB, I hope they still have this line!

That bass looks really, really French. It looks a lot like the F. Barbé from Elgars book. Is it a copy of something that Schnitzer/De Sola had access to?

What, is Arnold sneaking into my house and listening to me talk in my sleep? Because that's pretty much what I've been dreaming about.

Post sound clips please, and soon!

i have no idea. maybe arnold will chime in on this one. i have to say, that as time goes on im loving the bass more and more. the sound is sweet and its so easy to play. its making me play some stuff that i couldnt really pull off before. id say it was a worthwile investment for me.

I saw some of those parts in the white. Just lovely woodworking, in those components.

These basses seem like a brilliant new offering by Mssrs. Schnitzer and De Sola.

Happy to hear that the sound and playability of the finished bass matches the beauty of their vision.

Congratulations!

Wood?

Is this model fully carved, hybrid, or laminated?
