New BG

I feel more at home talking about BG here than over on the other side since most of us double at least a little bit. I just picked up a Fender Standard Jazz Bass Fretless at a local music store and I'm very happy with it. It's got fret lines which makes it a lot easier to play since I'm so used to seeing frets on the electric. It's black with a white pick guard just like my Standard fretted P-Bass. I'm pretty stoked.

Sounds like a nice porkchop. Unlike a lot of people who don't double, you will have the intonation to make it sound beautiful.

I don't understand.
Why would you feel more comfortable talking about a bass guitar on a double bass forum? Because "most of us double at least a little bit" ?
I know you said that. Why don't I get it? I'm not sure most of us double. But still, the forum is specifically for double bassists and the double bass in paticular.
Just please, oh pleeze, tell me why I don't get it.

Well, I guess a lot of us younger guys (no offense) started on the bass guitar and the switched to double bass and pursued classical and/or jazz music. I thought I'd share the good news with people who may be of similar backgrounds. That's all.

Jake, nothing personal but look at the header. I'm not trying to be an ***hat, but it's about Basses. Not about bass guitars.
Hell, lets talk about burritos. I like mine green, big pork chunks and pretty ******* hot.
You?
EDIT: Why would I be offeneded at you being young? I love being old. The best is yet to come for you. (Hopefully).

Well, we could move this thread to the Misc section. It might be more at home there.

I suggest, first, that you learn how to construct a sentence.

Hey Trey, I am being nice. Jake knows that. I don't come in here to be taking shots at somebody for kicks.
I check out where people are coming from by way of their Profiles and the posts they have been invovled in. Jake is just fine, in my opinion. I've read his posts.
He just happened to make a thread that really hasn't much to do with the DB under the Basses forum header. That's it.

Congrats Mr Jake. I'm an upright man myself, but every once in a while I just love to play really loud and in tune, hence some electric. Enjoy

Since a new thread of the same topic was created in Misc., I'll lock this and let it gently drift to the bottom.
