Very nice bass, big sound and set up well. The outer workmanship seems very good to my untrained eye. Impressive bass, especially for the price.
Congrats on yours! |

Just got it back after Lisa at Los Angeles Bass Works installed a new bridge and set up. The original bridge has the delrin adjusters that have a much larger thread making it unusable with a Full Circle pickup.
Probably one of the best values in a Chinese bass these days (in my opinion). Nice thick ebony fingerboard, figured woods, individual mortised tuners. I love it!
a couple more:

Although I really wanted to play on one, I had a hard time getting my head around the whole shipping a bass 2500 miles to try thing. But what a value, from all you hear about them. Congrats! |

Excuse the display of my ignorance, but what kind of strings are those? |

Steve's a great guy to deal with too. I had alot of fun just talking to him and deciding whether to go with the Bernadel or not. You're gonna love it!!

They have a bit of roll under the fingers, like obligatos. VERY growly and great for jazz.

The 3/4 willow has more sloping shoulders, I seem to remember. I think I was more impressed with the sound of the Wan also, but it's been a while since I've played a Willow.
Please remember, individual instruments of either "brand" are not identical, so these kinds of comparisons are not valid across the board. |

"Without sounding too redundant….it’s the way the originals were made as well. Oil varnishes are too, all hand applied and hand rubbed."

Unless you are way too far from a major air center or drive a smart car, his shipping fee is reasonable and his basses
come with a great set up....I'd say at least call him for details
on any bass he has in his shop...he will make it worth your time. and check the other cool basses at the Bass Cafe. |

| | | | Wan Bernadel @Glenfong- One correction...I do not nor have I ever owned the Wan Bernadel, although I am sure it is a decent instrument in its price range. Best, Todd Coolman | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
