I just saw them tonight -they were amazing and it is my first time in NYC. To David Gage's on Monday and Kolstein's in Baldwin on Tuesday. Lookin' to buy (a school/orchestral basss)

Good luck, though, man! I hope you find what you're lookin' 'round for. If you want a laugh you can play the "double bass" at Sam Ash on 48th.

Have you been by Bill Merchant's shop? Might be worth checking.. and if you can, take a trip up to Arnold's. And there's at least one fellow NYC-based TB'er selling their bass on the TB classifieds. |

Driving it takes the same amount of time to visit Kolstiens from Manhattan as it does AES.
I've visited both of those plus Gage and Ken Smith in PA.
I'd look for a bass from AES or Ken Smith over the others, however Kolstiens and Gage usually have good stuff. Might have to pay a couple extra bucks for where it's sitting though. |

They want to be able to take a train (which is what we're doing.) And I don't know how much of the trip they want to spend on this. Oh, visited Gage today -found a MONSTROUS fiver BUT it's just out of my price range. Doesn't happen to belong to one of our TB'ers does it? Apparently someone from the Met Opera was looking at buying it... I may have to beat them to it but I doubt my parents would actually pay for it
