opinions wanted on mexican uprights

hi im omar, new here, i am getting interested in the urb. i almost bought a "ccb" off ebay but luckily i did some research and found this forum as well as rockabillybass.com. From both i am reading good info but i have yet to find but a couple of threads regarding mexican made uprights. i live in san diego so it would be a easy to grab one, the range i found was about $280-$450. this was at actual instrument stores not the souvenir stands hahaha!. Shopkeepers said they are made in southern mexico but shipments are few in number. Im looking to play rockabilly, so do you think it would work? any input is appreciated!

You're in San Diego and you want a Rockabilly upright? Try posting a want-ad on www.rockabillybass.com. Seems to me there's quite a few players in that area and maybe someone could hook you up with a decent beginners instrument at a reasonable price.
