| Ham, this really isn't about thinking through the process of what brand bass is "better" than the other. The two "brands" you are comparing are both known for making quality instruments in general, but their individual basses are all going to be different in some way. The process for you has to be trying out specific basses and making your decision based on your experience with them. Which one gives you the sound, feel, etc. you are looking for?
Now, I can tell you I played a Wan Bernadel recently that I thought was a wonderful bass, well set up from the seller, sounded and felt good, and the workmanship seemed to be top notch. Does that mean all WB's are great basses and any one would suit you? Can't know, so I wouldn't buy one sight unseen.
