Patrick Charton and Jean Auray

Does anyone have a sense of the price range of their instruments?

I have no personal experience with their instruments, but both are highly regarded luthiers over here.

There's a 1992 Jean Auray for sale here for €20K. I believe that Patrick Charton's basses are in the €20K range, too.

Nice guy, got right back to me. He has a waiting list for his basses as he builds three a year. It might be possible to get one in 2010 but 2012 is what you are probably looking at to get one of his instruments. The price is $32,000.
