Peninsula Bass Teacher

Hi all,

Does anyone here know of a good jazz bass teacher in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area? Though I've been playing piano for 20 years, I am pretty much new to bass and need the basics. I don't want to travel too far with my bass. (I live in North MV.)

I think Seward McCain is on the pennisula not too far from you. There are more teachers on the other side of the bay.

Hi Neighbor:

Try John Shifflett in San Jose.

If you ' re willing to travel- I would recommend it as it 's worth the time & monies--
to get a good instructor.

HDiddy & I used to study with
Glen Richmond - Alameda-
He's one of the best !

or:
Marcus Shelby- San Francisco ?
Chris Amberger- " "

Glenn is definitely the man. Best teacher I've ever had. I'm still his student after 4 years now. PM me if you want his contact info.

Shifflett is a great player, if he is SJ that is your best bet. Keep in mind most teachers will let you use their bass during lesson.
