"Playing in" a laminated bass?

Dear friends,

I do apologize if maybe this topic has been discussed in length before, but I wasn't able to find anything on the forums.

Simply question... Does a laminate instrument 'play in' over time, ie does it develop a better sound the more it gets played, like a carved instrument does? Or is the sound it generates 'set for life' the moment it is constructed?

Thank you in advance!

Dewald.

I have subsequently found posts where this topic has been discussed at length. So my questions have been answered.

Thanks again.
