playing and walking with the bass?

hi

i'm preparing this free impro parade in Copenhagen and i'd like double-bass players to walk together in a line. the only detail is that i have no idea how to play and walk??? i know that it is possible, i saw some polish folk musicians doing this, but unfortunately i didn't look closer to check it out.

anybody have an idea how this can be done?
some special stripes?

thanks

they would need to have thick rubber wheels and bass players would have to be striped to the bass so dolly won't just drive away, but i guess it could be done?

If you have a wheel between your bass and the floor - won't that seriously affect the sound?

The obvious answer is for a New Orleans-style Tuba, worn around the neck!!

the weel will affect the sound but it's a parade, so there is no chance for a good sound anyway

You need a Segue with the double bass attachment.

I saw the Mummers in Philadelphia in 1970. There were several bands with dozens of bassists marching. The strap system does work, though it is not for those with bad backs.

If you hang a bag of sand over your shoulder it should give a nice counterweight to take the strain off your lower back.
