IIRC Quenoil makes a cheaper copy called the 'Q' i think they are somewhere in the $8k range. George Vance used to carry them but i dont' see them on his website anymore. You might want to get in touch with him if you are interested though. |

not to go too far off thread - I saw Edgar Meyer play his 2nd concerto last night with the LA Chamber orchestra (amazing, by the way!). Does anyone know what HIS (5/8th??) bass is?

The only other bass i've seen him play was a healthy sized five stringer He's not that big a cat...until he starts playing.

George still carries the Q Bass.
Also look at Kolstein Guarneri model, it's different from Rabbath's but has similarly sloped upper shoulders. |
