Thank you.
First, read the plethora of newbie, etc. threads. Then, tell us more about your budget, your style of music, etc.

. . . and show your teacher.

Like all those newbie threads say, find yourself a good teacher and rent a bass for awhile. Then if you like it, and you're doing well with it, ask your teacher to help you find a good bass to buy.

Given we have no idea just yet of your budget, age, etc-i will also say read the Newbie links.

The bass that i when in doubt to is a New Standard either a Cleveland or a La Scala. I own a Cleveland [laminated] and i'm happy with it.

Check out the Upton basses too.

Mainly-read the newbie links and provide us with more specific information.

Welcome to Talkbass-i'm a doubler, so i come down here a bit less than i read the other side.

take it easy.
