Renting bass

I may need to do a rehaersal in New York and for transportation reasons may not be able to bring my bass. I was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere (preferably in Manhattan) where I could rent a bass for not much, not more than about $50 a day. All I would need is a playable plywood with decent action because it would be a jazz rehearsal. I could provide my own pick-up.

Hi RC,
If you go here, you can scroll down to the NY listing and find phone numbers for the area bass people, including Arnold Schnitzer, Jeff Bollbach, Damon Walker, Barry Hill, Bill Merchant, etc... I don't know who rents in that group though.

If you want to go 6 hours North-East of the city (Rochester area), I can help you.
