Renting Basses in D.C. for Charity Concert

Hi,

I am a member of the World Doctors Orchestra. Our seventh charity concert will be on 9/11 this year in Washington D.C. and weŽll be performing Gustav Mahler Resurrection Symphony No. 2 together with the National Philharmonic Chorale.
The orchestra members are physicians from all over the world, with different levels of training and specialties as doctors but we all unite in the pleasure of fine music together with global medical responsibility.

As this is a charity concert and all physicians arrange their own travel and housing expenses, we usually try rent the bigger instruments, as it is often very expensive to travel with a bass (or timpanis) and difficult to organize (if you dont have a car for example). Also we do have a budget for each concert session, we try to keap these costs as low as possible to get the maximum for charity.

As a user of this forum, I told the local organizer in D.C. that I will ask via this forum, if anyone knows about possibilities (professional or private) of renting basses suitable for this project in the D.C. area.

I appreciate any help and answers via this forum or pm.

Thank you very much.

Ulf

Lightbulb Try this . . .

Contact: Thomas Wolf, 540-253-5430, violone@earthlink.net who is the luthier for several bassists with the National Symphony Orchestra. Nice guy & should be able to assist you.

Good luck!
