renting an upright in connecticut

Does anyone know where I could rent (preferably rent to buy) an upright in Connecticut? It would be my first upright, and I'm not sure that I'm willing to go all in for an instrument I may not enjoy. I would mainly be playing bluegrass (although more progressive leanings have allowed me to slip by on electric until now). Anyways...does anyone have any suggestions for Connecticut shops who have a rent to buy policy?

I've already talked to Upton and Music and Arts center (Manchester) and neither of them offer this kind of plan.

I'd also be willing to travel to NY, MA or RI to make this happen if necessary

Thanks in advance

Check the Gollihur site for his list of luthiers.

http://www.gollihurmusic.com/luthiers.cfm

You can check with David Mix in Branford and Mike Asetta in upstate CT. But, the Gollihur list has others as well as Mass. and NY luthiers.

Good luck and welcome to the club!

Upton has a lease option, at least they did in november when i was checking one out. I ended up just buying one. The Upton standard really is a good bass, and might be cheaper for you to buy one, and then sell it if you dont like it. Uptons basses go for very close to the original value if its still in good condition.
