riegger bass(idk how to spell it)

I would like to know if anyone has any info on the riegger bass.....i know rufus reid plays one....the only other one i have seen is one my teacher(dee moses) owns. Its in the busseto shape and has these little ebony diamonds on the corners. Its a gorgeous instrument and sounds amazing. It was built in the 1820's.

Question

Interesting.
Arnold, I did a quick Google on Rieger. I came up with some stuff on Rufus, but a couple of pages in found something about A Rieger pipe organ in Vienna. Could it be?

When i was in the Polmann shop in Germany, they said me there was a Rieger bass in a local church that needed extensive restoration and if i remember well they had photos of this bass.

seitz was an apprentice of one of the riegers.

the riegers are a big family.
there is also a theory that there is a connection between rieger and ruggieri
(same family north and south of the alps)
