Read this thread in full and search the other threads for "Roma" info. You will find that just about all the info existing about these basses is here on Talkbass. In short, they are Romanian basses, some carved, some hybrid. They are, for the most part, decent instruments, with some upgrade and set-up work. Check with Steve Loeb at Ideal Music (www.bassesonline.com) to see what if any he has left in stock. I own one (not a 396) that I purchased from him. It's very decent (and currently for sale on TB Classifieds).

This thread being almost five years old, I don't know what Steve has left among the Romas. Contact him to find out. He's a fair and decent person to deal with.
